After years of declarations, announcements and menaces, the “war on drugs”, Italian way has finally scored the Italian zero tolerance politic on drugs:

Just at the very end of its government mandate, the agonizing Berlusconi government has successfully approved a big decree aimed at the financing of the Winter Olympics that implies the most prohibitionist drug laws of the western world that are by many aspects worse and more vicious than the drug laws during the Mussolini Dictatorship ranging from 1922 to 1943.

That’s the scenery of a possible Inferno. Jail sentences from six to 20 years for possession of any substance , cannabis included, no distinction being made  between soft and hard drugs occur along with the facilitation of Berlusconi “own” drug centres in spite of public ones that deserve indirectly to be dismantled, with funding mostly directed to government friendly companies.

In this situation there is been  the total cutting of the funding of the Italian Government run by Foreign Minister and main Drug Warrior Mr.Gianfranco Fini directed to important United Nations institutions such as World Health Organisation  and many other but the funding was confirmed with 4 million $  for Mr Antonio Maria Costa UNDOC United Nations  executive officer for Drugs and crime, the man in charge of the UN drug enforcement, historically an Italian appointee.
